Our location in Barry (Sully, Vale of Glamorgan) has been established since 1992, and is a manufacturing site producing hydrophilic and treated Fumed Silica in close collaboration with Dow.

 

We have a vacancy for a Warehouse Technician to join our day operations. The successful candidate will be working the combination of morning, day and evening 8 hour shifts throughout the week with a 7 day rotating shift pattern. The successful candidate will be expected to carry out all warehouse activities, together with stock rotation of raw material & final product to ensure that customer's requirements and orders are delivered consistently. The Warehouse Technician will be working in a small team in a dynamic environment and therefore, we are looking for an excellent team player with enthusiasm and flexibility.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Ensuring that finished product is dispatched and shipped to customers or outside storage in a safe, qualitative and timely manner with appropriate documentation;
  • Loading of containers with palletised material, filling of tankers, off-loading of sea bulks and removing liners after loading;
  • Safely moving raw material and final product to and from storage area;
  • Recording accurately the raw material and final product inventory;
  • Timely maintaining an accurate record keeping / log of incident reports;
  • Looking after Nissen Hut and WPS Housekeeping;
  • Carrying out designated maintenance work orders around the warehouse area;
  • Taking responsibility for any other reasonable duties as required by the individual’s direct line manager.

What You Will Bring to Cabot

  • Fully Trained Fork Lift Truck License and full clean driving license - essential;
  • English & Math’s to GCSE grade C and above or equivalent qualification – essential;
  • Intermediate level on use of MS Excel & Word;
  • Understanding and knowledge of stock records accuracy principles and cycle counting - would be advantageous;
  • Experience of basic mechanical work - would be advantageous;
  • NVQ Level 2 Warehouse skills or experience of working in a Warehouse environment, particularly with regard to lorry loading, both container and curtain sided - desirable to have;
  • Stocktaking experience - desirable to have.
