Your Role at Cabot

Work through established contracts for centrally sourced items and/or through the selection of vendors and suppliers for non-centrally sourced items. May negotiate local contracts. Depending on organizational structure, may provide leadership and guidance to less experienced members of Purchasing team.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Procure high-value items for multiple sites, utilizing established contracts and managing bid requests.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify purchasing needs and execute related tasks, including document generation and purchase order approval.
  • Identify cost-effective methods for purchasing small and local items, utilizing tools like extended payment terms and blanket orders to minimize administrative efforts and costs.
  • Research and develop cost-effective sourcing options, maintain a supply base, and consolidate suppliers to streamline purchases.
  • Foster and maintain positive business relationships with vendors and users.
  • Ensure on-time delivery of quality goods and services at agreed prices. Resolve commercial conflicts and quality issues through Purchasing Managers or directly with suppliers.
  • Assess supplier performance for Regional or Global purchases. Report on cost reduction and other metrics. Analyze trends to identify efficiency opportunities.
  • Provide training and leadership as needed. May lead projects or locations, guiding Purchasing staff.
  • Support sustainability and regulatory initiatives per site/region requirements.
  • Participate and support product management and/or product development projects as necessary.
  • Identify and highlight potential cost saving opportunities to the purchasing team.
  • Partner with site capital and project management teams to ensure successful delivery of capital projects in the region.
  • Ensure that procurement plans are established and maintained for assigned projects and/or sites.
  • Contribute to the procurement and contracting strategy, change management, supplier relationship management, and execution of the category management strategies as directed by Capital leadership team.
  • Participate as an active member of the capital sourcing team sharing learnings, best practices, market trends, and supplier intelligence across regions.

What You Will Bring to Cabot

  • University degree in Business, Science or Engineering or equivalent experience. 
  • 3+ years industry related purchasing experience, preferably with projects management and capital projects.
  • Knowledge of engineering, fabrication or construction industries will be considered as strong advantage.
  • Good knowledge of contract design. Understanding of marketplace relating to goods and services purchased. 
  • Advanced computer skills; knowledge of office and purchasing applications.
  • Strong negotiations skills and general understanding of business issues and financial principles.
  • The ability to engage in verbal and written communications that are direct, concise, clear and relevant and delivered in an appropriate manner.
  • Strong communications skills towards leadership team as well as stakeholders.
  • Fluent in English, knowledge of other European languages will be considered as an advantage, but not essential.

Additional Information:

  • Salary: 2300 - 2600 EUR Gross depending on experience.
  • Working hours: 9:00 - 17:30.
  • Health insurance from first day of work.
  • Monthly allowance & yearly bonus. 
  • Hybrid work schedule (3 days on site and 2 days’ work from home).
