Your Role at Cabot

As a Category Specialist, you will play a key role in developing and implementing purchasing strategies for the Professional Services and Digital categories. Collaborating closely with internal stakeholders, you will identify opportunities to optimize purchasing power, negotiate large-volume contracts at global, regional, or local levels, and drive cost efficiencies while ensuring high-quality service. This role involves managing supplier relationships, conducting market intelligence reviews, and supporting cross-functional teams to align on sourcing activities and strategic goals. Your expertise will ensure compliance with corporate standards and contribute to the continuous improvement of procurement practices.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies that incorporate contracts, supplier management techniques, and purchasing tools.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities, standardize goods and services, and optimize working capital within the Professional Services and Digital categories.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of suppliers, industry standards, and products in the Professional Services and Digital categories.
  • Select suppliers and negotiate large-volume contracts at the global, regional, or local level.
  • Communicate, implement, and execute purchasing strategies while sharing best practices and fostering collaboration across teams.
  • Analyze market intelligence and spending trends to recommend changes that achieve cost reductions, enhance efficiency, and ensure quality performance.
  • Assemble and participate in cross-functional teams to identify internal requirements and validate sourcing activities.
  • Ensure compliance with purchasing ethics, Sarbanes-Oxley 404, ISO, and corporate standards, values, and legal requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong business relationships with suppliers and stakeholders while providing procurement guidance during projects and sourcing events.

What You Will Bring to Cabot

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Science, Engineering or equivalent experience.  Purchasing certification or equivalent is preferred
  • 5+ years industry-related purchasing experience.

  • Strong knowledge of Purchasing profession within multinational industry. 

  • Strong understanding of contract language terms and conditions as well as contract design.  

  • Understanding of marketplace relating to the categories of Professional Services and Digital/IT. Solid understanding of business issues and financial principles.

  • Strong knowledge of office and purchasing applications (e.g. Coupa, Savings Reporting tools). Understanding of purchasing and inventory systems and interfaces with Finance.
  • The ability to effectively engage with the organization in a manner that is timely, relevant, and appropriate for the environment.
  • Strong skills in data analysis, with experience in spend analysis, price benchmarking, and performance tracking. Ability to identify issues within the procurement processes and develop creative solutions.

Additional Information 

  • Working Hours: 9:00 - 17:30
  • Permanent contract.
  • Salary: 3000 - 3300 EUR Gross.
  • Monthly allowance & Yearly bonus.
  • Health insurance from first day of work.
  • Hybrid work schedule (3 days on site and 2 days’ work from home).
