Cabot plant in Botlek is part of a global network and produces Carbon Blacks for high performance tires, plastics, and to support the energy transition by producing Battery Materials for electric vehicles. The facility has a General Manager, the leadership team members lead the departments SHE, HRM, Finance, Operations and Quality & Technology.
Based on an in-depth knowledge of environmental topics in the chemical industry, the environment & sustainability lead ensures that we (continue to) operate our factory within our license and the applicable laws and regulations. At the same time, the position holder is able to develop strategy for a sustainable future of our factory in terms of energy, air/water emissions and waste.
Responsible for drafting, implementing and propagating the plant's environmental policy. Further developing and implementing the Cabot Botlek strategy in the field of sustainability.
Hands-on approach that can combine daily practice with a vision/strategy for the future. Know what is important today (reports, measurements, monitoring, stakeholder management) and what will become important tomorrow (legislation, regulations, Cabot objectives, etc.). Know that direct involvement is always necessary on topics that are important, but can also zoom out and keep an overview.
First contact person for authorities and for the own organization for environmental and sustainability-related questions. Has interactions with various stakeholders and can switch well in interactions between authorities, (higher) management and the shop floor.
