Your Role at Cabot

This position is primarily responsible for leading the local implementation and ongoing/day-to-day support of Cabot’s Process Safety Standards, Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Plan (RMP), ATEX, etc. to assure compliance with Cabot’s requirements and local process safety requirements regulations (as required).

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Understand the Cabot Process Safety Standards and the requirements of local process safety programs (e.g., ATEX, PSM programs).
  • Provide training to employees and contractors (as required) to assure understanding and compliance with Cabot Process Safety Standards and requirements of local process safety requirements (e.g., ATEX, PSM programs).
  • Support PSM Excellence implementation. Identify needs required to comply with PSM requirements.
  • Implement Cabot Process Safety Standards and requirements of local process safety legislation (e.g., PSM programs like PSI, MOC, PHA and PSSR and others like ATEX).
  • Coordinate, review and assess the ongoing maintenance of all Cabot Process Safety Standards and requirements of local process safety legislation
  • Lead Process Hazards Analysis (PHA) for plant projects by providing support in PHA methodologies. Review results of all PHAs and PHA revalidations for quality and thoroughness. Enter agreed actions with appropriate closure dates in Intelex. Develop a PHA program compliant with the Cabot standard.
  • Support SH&E through the review and assessment of CMS projects for PSM related requirements.
  • Participate in Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSRs) prior to startup of new or modified processes or equipment or after extended shutdown of equipment.
  • Participate in Process Safety Event investigations and root cause analysis. In conjunction with site management teams, track progress of plant PSM related corrective actions in Intelex.
  • Provide guidance and assist in the implementation of the Emergency Response Plan for the facility.
  • Evaluate events and operational results and support the revising / updating of site policies, procedure revisions, and training to address process safety related findings.
  • Manage the MOC system for the site, ensuring MOCs are closed out and actions associated with MOCs are entered in Intelex and completed.
  • Support the FM Global insurance visits. Agree and manage the follow up actions with the site Leadership team
  • Led regular self-assessments of the Process Safety standards and support corporate Process Safety audits
  • Develop and report (monthly) Process Safety KPIs for the site

 

What You Will Bring to Cabot

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required. Preferred discipline in Process, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 3-5 years’ experience.
