Your Role at Cabot

Manage activities of a Domestic Transportation group within the Riga Global Business Services, owning transportation operational solutions to business segments and shipping sites in the EMEA and NA regions. Provide leadership to team lead, expert, or directly to team members. Ensure that the team is operating at the highest standard of performance, focusing on customer satisfaction on timely deliveries, assigning priorities, monitoring carrier performance and ensuring continuous coverage for all the activities within the group. Develop and lead the group, in line with the policies, procedures, and standard business practices, to achieve excellence in customer service.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Direct and oversee the domestic transportation operations for EMEA and NA and ensure that all company policies, procedures, and controls are followed.
  • Ensure EMEA and NA Domestic Transportation Teams provide excellent service and support to Customers and Customer Care groups by assuring all requests are addressed correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Supervise scheduling of the shipments and ensure close collaboration between the groups maintaining optimal loading capacity monitoring process.
  • Facilitate communication with other GBS groups within the Riga Delivery center and globally.
  • Actively contribute to the improvement of GBS processes, both within the GBS and with the larger Cabot context (global standards), and implement according to the agreed plans.
  • Lead the review of processes, procedures, standards, and key performance indicators. Ensure performance meets or exceeds standards and goals.  Propose improvements to existing methods to enhance quality, efficiency, reliability, and continuity of service.
  • Provide leadership and resolution to escalated service problems.
  • Participate to all transport related complaints investigation and resolution, implement corrective actions as decided.
  • Drive initiatives and actively participate in continuous improvement projects in O2C area.
  • Oversee the usage and continuous improvement of transportation management systems (TMS - Transwide) and slot booking tools (Shiptify), ensuring effective daily operations.
  • Oversee and support rail transportation activities in the NA region, including non-sales order billing and timely issue resolution in close collaboration with rail carriers. Ensure visibility into railcar tracking and maintain oversight of fleet structure and utilization.
  • Manage performance of Domestic Transportation team, provide leadership and guidance to employees. Ensure the high performance of the team in terms of quality and efficiency, through Performance Based Management, including appropriate training, coaching, delegation, and motivation. With the support of the O2C Operations Manager, effectively coach and develop Team Lead.
  • Ensure the work according to the Quality management system, including monitoring and analysis of KPIs and metrics, conducting the root cause analysis, and implementing and tracking corrective actions.
  • Monitor budget, oversee data on costs for the area of responsibility, provide input to the long-range planning process;
  • Effectively participate in the Extended Leadership team contributing to the achievement of corporate targets, projects, and initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain business relationships with external parties, which may include customers, third-party service providers, vendors as well as internal groups within and outside the Riga Delivery Center.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures including safety, internal control, Sarbanes-Oxley regulations and ISO 9000 standards.
  • Perform other duties and job tasks according to employer’s written or verbal orders.
  • Contribute to and promote a culture that supports Cabot Values, team work, and high safety health and environmental (“SH&E”) standards.
  • Prioritize customer satisfaction by ensuring efficient operations and preventing all circumstances which interfere with the normal process.
  • Comply with all policies, internal documents, and regulations issued by Cabot.
  • Comply with all requirements, instructions, and orders related to environment protection and work safety matters issued by Cabot.
  • Ensure enforcement and effectiveness enforcement of internal control requirements.

What You Will Bring to Cabot

  • University degree in Business or related discipline.
  • 5+ years, including prior management, logistics and transportation operations experience.
  • Eagerness to provide an excellent service to Customers and plants.
  • Develop understanding of Customer requirements and objectives.
  • Responsive and reliable in dealing with customer issues.
  • Commercial mindset and business acumen.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the aptitude to influence employees and management, both inside the company and externally with Carriers.

Additional Information:

  • Salary: 2590 - 3710 EUR Gross depending on experience.
  • Permanent contract.
  • Working hours: 9:00 - 17:30.
  • Health insurance from first day of work.
  • Monthly allowance & yearly bonus. 
  • Hybrid work schedule (3 days on site and 2 days’ work from home).
