Participates in the design, fabrication and testing of prototype chemical process equipment. May have a focus on process or electro-mechanical systems design. Works closely with engineers on equipment installation and construction. Maintains and calibrates equipment and tools.
• Identifies, recommends and assists in the execution of improvements to the equipment, procedures, and test methods and data analysis.
• Participates in the design and builds and assembles prototype chemical process equipment and sub-assemblies, including plumbing and electrical components.
• Installs and de-installs equipment involving various manufacturing equipment and electrical expansions. Uses drawings and sketches.
• Assists engineers in developing, improving and testing system automation and electrical processes, chemical plant processes and equipment.
• Repairs and maintains prototype chemical processing equipment. Calibrates and tests testing equipment. Maintains preventive maintenance schedule.
• Documents technical specifications and updates manuals.
• Works on special projects as assigned.
• Supports efforts to implement and maintain the Responsible Care® Management System in line with the requirements of the RC14001® technical specification, as applicable to the site/region.

Education/Experience
• Formal technical training beyond High School.
• 3-5 years related experience.
