The Platform Owner is responsible for overseeing the development, maintenance, and strategic direction of a technology platform. They are the subject matter experts responsible for ensuring that technical initiatives are successfully and efficiently developed, executed, and delivered. The Platform Owner is responsible for ensuring that we have the right team in place to support enhancements as well as day-to-day business-as-usual (BAU) issues and requests. They act as a coach, guide, and mentor for these teams (internal and external via MSP).
They must ensure that issues are resolved in a timely manner, participate in escalations when needed, and be involved in the Problem Management process. They are also responsible for ensuring proper documentation exists, including SOPs, runbooks, etc.
They must comply with, actively engage in, and be a champion for all Digital processes, including the Project Delivery Lifecycle and ITIL Service Management processes.
The Platform Owner is responsible for the development and implementation of the strategic roadmap for the current platforms and partners with Enterprise Architecture to evaluate next-generation technologies for the future.
