Your Role at Cabot

As a Buyer for North America region, you will support a specific Cabot production site by obtaining goods and services essential for smooth operations.

 

Your responsibilities will include working with established vendors to procure centrally sourced items and selecting suppliers for non-centrally sourced items. You will handle purchasing tasks such as procuring items for manufacturing plants, managing bid requests, and collaborating with internal customers to understand their needs.

 

Additionally, you will focus on identifying cost-saving opportunities, improving purchasing efficiency—particularly in tail spend areas—and leading supplier negotiations to ensure cost-effective solutions and maximize savings.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Procure lower-value items, ensuring purchasing needs are met while generating and approving purchase orders within established limits.
  • Review and act on order requests promptly, follow up with suppliers, and keep stakeholders informed of progress.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable terms and achieve cost-saving targets.
  • Analyze buying patterns and data to identify inefficiencies and propose cost-reduction strategies.
  • Manage operational tasks, including monitoring purchase orders, supplier data, and delivery timelines.
  • Participate in LEAN processes to drive workflow efficiency and continuous improvement.
  • Support the implementation of purchasing tools, such as catalogs and buying channels.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with purchasing ethics, corporate standards, and relevant laws.
  • Provide training to less experienced staff as needed.

What You Will Bring to Cabot

  • Previous experience in purchasing/sales/customer.
  • Advanced computer skills; knowledge of office and purchasing applications.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
  • Acquires and uses technical and professional knowledge, skills and judgment to accomplish results effectively.
  • Excellent English language skills. 

Additional Information 

  • Working Hours: 15:00 - 23:30
  • Permanent contract.
  • Monthly allowance & Yearly bonus.
  • Health insurance from first day of work.
  • Hybrid work schedule (3 days on site and 2 days’ work from home).
  • Salary: 1900 -2700 EUR Gross. The final salary offer will depend on the candidate’s previous  experience and qualifications.
