  • Position Summary

    The Export/Import Specialist coordinates the move of goods exported and imported to/from countries within and outside of EMEA region. He/she reviews /prepares the documentation and ensures compliance with customs regulations. He/she is a key communication link between the external customers and Cabot Corporation. The Export/Import Specialist is accountable for ensuring that customers receive the best support possible.


    This is a temporary position for at least 1,5 year. 

    Job Responsibilities

    • Manage Customer orders from receipt to delivery. Coordinate movement of the shipment with forwarder and keep the customer well informed of any changes.
    • Work to find solutions when issues occur to satisfy customer needs.
    • Organize, co-ordinate and execute deliveries with Freight forwarders. Coordinate the customs formalities, import/export formalities, and transportation activities.
    • Review and prepare the export documents such as commercial invoices, packing lists, booking instructions, export declarations, bill of lading, export/import certificates, etc. Ensure related import/export documents are made available on time to allow receipt of goods.
    • Handle orders under letter of credit as defined and check legal compliance of export/import transaction.
    • Manage and follow up interregional replenishment orders from entry to delivery, based on supply plan delivered by the planning group.
    • Interact with other departments in an effective, clear and precise way.


    • Customer orientated mindset, previous experience working with customers
    • Stress resistance. Adapting with flexibility to a fast moving environment
    • Able to deal with multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Fluent in English, knowledge of German or French will be an advantage
    • Will be considered an advantage: Practical knowledge of international trade, ocean and air freight shipping documentation, custom regulations and procedures
    • 1-2 years of experience related to international transportation or customer service
