  • Position Summary

    In this role, you will be accountable for sales of Cabot’s Specialty Compounds business products (black masterbatches, conductive compounds and concentrates) to key regional accounts that are geographically distributed across mainly Benelux and Italy. You will have a mix of accounts for which you are directly responsible and others which are served through our distributors and sales agents. 30-35% of your time in this role will also be dedicated to new business development in the defined geography.


    We are looking for a Technical Sales Manager who has hands-on experience working with thermoplastics sales across various countries. In your role, you will be part of the wider team of 7 Sales Managers reporting to the Regional General Manager of Specialty Compounds business. We are looking for candidates based in a location where Cabot entity is represented, yet the preferred locations would be Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, or France.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Partner with the Regional General Manager to agree and deliver an annual sales budget in line with the strategy of the business.
    • Develop new businesses in your area of responsibility in line with the business strategic focus.
    • Manage and motivate Cabot’s distributors in your geographical area.
    • Provide commercial support to the distributors with joint visits, by organizing training and ensuring they actively promote Cabot masterbatches and conductive compounds.
    • Demonstrate the features and benefits of Cabot’s products, gain technical approvals and support the sale of these products at our customers. This will include being the focal point for handling customer feedback.
    • Work closely with the Development, Production, and Technical Support teams and are a contributor to new product development, plans and strategies by providing insights into market trends and requirements.
    • Be available for extensive travel in the geographical responsibility area and frequent visits to Cabot technical center in Belgium. 


    • Minimum 5 years of experience in a sales or technical position in the plastics industry. Direct experience in sales and application of masterbatches is an advantage.
    • Fluent in English is required, good French and Italian knowledge would be an advantage.
    • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.
    • The role can be collocated in one of our plants in Belgium or can be also home-based (Benelux, Germany, France, Italy) so the ability to work remotely as part of a wider team is essential.
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and experience of the use of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software is expected. Experience with is an advantage.
    • Bachelor/University degree preferably in Chemical/Technical or Commercial fields.
