  • Position Summary

    Maintaining industrial machinery and mechanical equipment and components. This equipment may include mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, fuel, lubrication, cooling, and exhaust systems. Components maintained include pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, presses, generators, and pneumatic and hydraulic controls.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Works from specifications and complex drawings, manuals, verbal/written instructions.  Assembles and disassembles equipment to isolate and diagnose; corrects equipment malfunctions by repairing or replacing defective parts.  Installs and de-installs processing equipment as needed.
    • Uses business management system to enter and/or follow-up work and service orders.  May keep records and logs; tracks inventory levels.
    • Performs preventative maintenance on equipment and systems adhering to established schedules.
    • Ability to work as part of a team, respond to changing work situations, demonstrate initiative, possess strong communication and computer skills.
    • Maintains and continuously improves upon knowledge of all processes and equipment within their area of responsibility.  May recommend improvements to electro-mechanical systems.
    • Participates in scheduled safety meetings and completes safety training requirements.
    • Keeps working area safe and clean.
    • Uses a variety of hand and power tools, such as cut-off saws, drill presses and others.
    • Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
    • Call-outs and overtime occasionally required.


    • Interprovincial Industrial Mechanic or Construction Millwright.
    • Must be in good physical condition – able to climb, lift, and work at heights.
    • Red Seal Certification.
    • Five (5) years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing facility.
    • Ability to interpret operating instructions.
    • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing. Ability to work collaboratively with others in a team-based environment.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Outlook.
