  • Position Summary

    Establishes and implements the global marketing communications strategy for the Performance Chemicals Business segment. Provides global leadership of the budgeting, design and execution of all internal and external marketing communications initiatives within the business, including increased use of digital techniques.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Manages full scope of marketing communications activities across all global market segments, including annual global budgeting and integrated marketing communications planning to support global business strategy.
    • Works with business Marketing and Sales groups to develop and implement promotional strategies involving various channels, including digital and print collateral, automated marketing, the Cabot website, newsletters, press releases, articles, presentations, global and regional tradeshows and events, advertising, and other assorted educational, informational or promotional campaigns related to specific products, business segments, applications, and the Cabot brand
    • Coordinates production of in-house and external customer-facing communications materials and works closely with Marketing and Sales groups regarding content and publication of materials. Serves as liaison with external agencies, vendors, event organizers to ensure project goals are met.
    • Support Cabot’s global distributor network with sales and marketing materials, including some customized collateral. This includes global and regional tradeshow support and maintenance, automated marketing including e-blast content, and collateral management platforms.
    • Creates and standardizes marketing communications processes and materials to enable scalability and maintain message consistency across global or regional product segments and applications. Leverages projects globally or regionally where applicable.
    • Oversees work of Marketing Communication specialists and indirect resources, providing work direction and guidance, sometimes beyond the segment and for the greater Cabot brand need.
    • Coordinate with Purchasing and Accounts Payable to qualify vendors, manage the JDE process with respect to requisitions and purchase orders, and ensure invoices are paid on time and within our planned budget.
    • Coordinates with marketing communications function in other Cabot business to ensure method and tool standardization, where appropriate.

    Requirements

    • Strong knowledge of marketing communications practices and techniques in order to connect the knowledge and best practices to address business strategy/needs towards objective of driving growth, coupled with a creative and entrepreneurial style and willingness to explore new ideas.
    • Capability to understand the industrial/chemical B2B marketplace, Cabot product applications, and how Cabot delivers value to its customers
    • Experience setting an implementing digital communication strategy
    • The ability to take ownership for ensuring the desired outcome of projects and to establish priorities, critical milestones, and monitor the projects toward the objectives. Ability to balance multiple demands across a broad spectrum of project scopes and business segments.
    • The ability to effectively engage with the organization and to organize, design and present information in the most effective manner. Strong written and oral communication skills.
    • The desire and ability to provide high quality of service in a responsive and prompt manner
    • The ability to work collaboratively, in close alignment with people across the organization and to influence and engage with others to address issues, make decisions that affect multiple interests, build team consensus and resolve conflicts.
    • Manages external vendor selection and performance to ensure that the delivered services meet the needs and expectations of the business
    • The ability to demonstrate cultural sensitivity and to recognize, and be accommodating to issues that are outside one’s national perspective
    • Employee management skills, including managing reports in other regions
    • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a relevant discipline.
    • 12+ years of global marketing experience.
